Websites for Practing Teachers

Everyone needs a helping hand, whether it’s to get advice on how to make a marble cake, or what to do when starting a new phrase in your life. We all have to learn to take other peoples opinion and either makes use of them in your own way by converting to suite your needs, or just listen and simply say Thank You! I had the pleasure to do a mini research for finding different websites for practicing teachers. Being that I am an up and coming educator myself, I found these four websites very creative and informative.

When I bounced up this site I was overly impressed. Mrs. Meacham’s site is very creative. She has the alphabet as her standard page and under most of the letters there are subcategories where you can find almost everything. It gives you ideas on how to set up your calendar in class, down to different activities to help your students with Fine Motor Skills. Mrs. Meacham also makes most of her activities printable for upcoming teachers like you and I. Things that you learned about in school many times you hear teachers say that it is not used when school is out, but I found it interesting that Mrs. Meacham talked about using “Harry Wong” approach when it comes to procedures in her classroom. This site is great and I give it 5 stars….

What I like about this site is that as soon as you enter it, it is very inviting. It has an appeal to it that you will just want to click and explore. It gives us upcoming teachers ideas on how to strategize ourselves for teaching and for classroom management. There are various themes on the site and it is placed in different months of the year and subjects of the class. For example, Columbus Day is in October and it is also a Social Studies topic, so it is placed in both places so the teacher can see the comparison. The way the site is set up reflects the month that school starts to the month it ends. Under every month have different category to reflect what is happening at that time, whether it is back to school for September to end of the year for June. A lot of resources are also offered on the site and printable as well.

This is a great site for teachers to get an insight on different ways they can help their young students. It has different learning areas like literacy; math; science and even fine motor. There are great classroom ideas giving teachers different tips on how to handle your class on the first day of school down to ways in which you can assess your student to see what level they are on. The ideas on this site are pretty helpful. What I like most about this site is the different articles that are there for you to read about different technologies that can be used for preschoolers.

Candler’s site has a file cabinet where each subject that you click on is broken down into sub categories. There are many lessons that teachers can use to teach their students. She also has a list of different strategies that teachers can use with their students. The resources that she gave are very helpful and informative. It tells you what the strategy is about and how you can go about breaking it down to use within your classroom. The good thing about this site is that it is so resourceful. If you need to find a particular book, you can go into Laura’s Books and you will find different types of common core books that will be very beneficial for your students.

These sites that I have provided are just a few out of many that are available for us new teachers that are up and coming. It okay to research and find different ways to improve a skill that we have not fully grown into as yet. Practicing teacher’s websites supports the learning environment for young learners. Check them out and let me know what you think!
